As a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, David handled thousands of cases at the misdemeanor and felony levels. David Overhuls was a chief misdemeanor prosecutor and has supervised misdemeanor and felony prosecutors at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. David has tried a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony cases including murder, aggravated robbery, sexual assault, aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, theft, assault, possession of a controlled substance, and DWI.

As a former Special Crimes Prosecutor, David Overhuls handled the biggest drug cases in Harris County: individuals charged with possessing and selling over 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, PCP, and other controlled substances. He was also responsible for coordinating investigations with the DEA, ICE, FBI, and Homeland Security. David also investigated and prosecuted Harris County doctors and nurses operating pain management clinics.

One of the most important factors in David’s success is his ability to see each case through the eyes of not only a defense attorney, but a prosecutor as well. David Overhuls’ experience as a chief misdemeanor prosecutor and special crimes prosecutor enables him to anticipate how the State of Texas will prosecute a case and what “value” the prosecutors may attach to a specific case. This is critical to being able to obtain a successful outcome for you whether by trial, dismissal, or a favorable plea bargain. David is a native Houston resident and cares deeply about our community and the rights of citizens living here. He wants to help if you or a loved one are in in trouble.
